Yoga has transformed considerably from ancient times. Though the basic thought remains the same there has been tremendous changes to help cope with the changing lifestyle and health conditions. However, people are afraid to perform yoga because of several myths associated to it. Today we are here to put an end to those fake facts:
1. Yoga Is Only About Flexibility: This is a major yoga myth as people believe that yoga is all about bending your body in various positions. However, this is not true. Yoga basically involves some stretching and stamina. Yoga can be performed even if you are not flexible. Flexibility can be gained with time.
2. It Can Take Away Your Muscle Mass: Another myth is that yoga hampers your muscle growth. It makes you lean and you might lose your gains. However, this is completely false. Power yoga encourages you to lift weights and help you gain. Muscle building is all about eating right and practicing proper exercises or yoga.
3. Slow Progress: People believe that yoga is very easy and it can show quick changed in your body when practised. This is not true because there need to be proper practices of asanas to help you gain or lose weight. The results show slowly and gradually.
4. Yoga Can Only Be Practised Early Morning: People believe that they cannot practice yoga because they have no time in the morning. This is because according to their mindset yoga can only be practised in the morning. It is best to perform yoga in the morning to help you cope with the daytime routine but it can also be practised in the evening.
5. Gym Can Not Be Replaced By Yoga: Men believe that if they have been hitting the gym regularly they can not switch to yoga. This is false. You can switch to yoga anytime you like though it would take your body a while to adapt to the new practice.
