Chandigarh, Nov 26– As a part of the special anti-drug drive, the Haryana Police has seized 263 gram of heroin from a car in Fatehabad district and arrested two persons in this connection. The estimated value of the seized drug is around Rs 25 lakh.
Sharing the details, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that during initial probe, the arrested accused revealed that they had brought the contraband from a Nigerian in Delhi for supply in the Sirsa area.
The accused Vishal alias Laadi of Shahpur Begu, Sirsa and Sunil Kumar alias Sheelu of Badopal were booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) case. The crackdown was made by a team of the Anti-narcotic cell.
He said that a police team during patrolling was conducting checking of vehicles at a naka near village Badopal. When it signaled a car to stop for checking, the youth in the vehicle panicked and tried to turn the car back, but were nabbed. A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 263 gram of heroin.
After the registration of a case against them, further probe is underway.
