192 candidates filed nomination papers

For the first and second phase of Panchayat elections 2021-22, 192 candidates submitted their nomination papers on December 14. Out of these, there are 101 nomination papers of women candidates.
State Election Commission Secretary Shri B.S. Jamod has told that as per the information received till 6 pm, 7 nomination have been filed for District Panchayat member, 10 for Janpad Panchayat member, 158 for the post of Sarpanch and 17 candidates submitted nomination papers for the post of Panch.
The nomination papers for phase one and two will be filled by December 20. The scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on December 21. The last date for withdrawal of candidature and allotment of election symbols will be December 23. The first phase of voting will be held on January 6 and the second phase will be held on January 28, 2022 from 7 am to 3 pm.
In the first phase, nomination papers are being taken for 6,285 gram panchayats of 85 development blocks and in the second phase for 8,015 gram panchayats of 110 development blocks.
