Haryana Police arrests 6 accused in separate incidents under NDPS Act

Chandigarh, Dec 24 – Haryana Police has arrested six persons including a woman in separate incidents on charges of drug peddling and seized 7-kg poppy husk, 104-gm heroin, 51-gm smack and 510-gm opium from their possession in Kurukshetra, Sirsa and Fatehabad districts.

          Sharing the details, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that a team of Anti-narcotic cell after an input had arrested a pedestrian carrying a plastic bag from Babain in Kurukshetra. When frisked, police recovered 7 kg poppy husk from the possession of the accused identified as Harjinder Singh, a resident of Gharaunda.

          In the second incident, sleuths of Anti-narcotic cell in Kurukshetra had arrested Raju, a native of Didar Nagar after 51-gm smack was recovered from their possession. During interrogation, accused revealed the name of his mother, who gave the drugs to him to sell.

          In a separate case, a police team while patrolling has arrested Sanjay alias Sanju, a resident of Peerawali, Hisar from Sirsa district and seized 54-gm heroin from his possession.

          In another incident, CIA team signaled a motorcycle (without number plate) for checking near a bridge in Fatehabad district. Instead of stopping, the accused tried to speed off by taking a U-turn but was nabbed. When searched, 50-gm heroin was recovered from accused identified as Gurpreet Singh.

         In another incident, a police team had arrested Kuldeep alias Kalia, a resident of Pirthala after 510 gram of opium was recovered from him.

          Cases under the provisions of NDPS Act were registered against the accused in different police stations.
