Chandigarh, September 22- A delegation of Haryana Arhti Association led by Mr. Shiv Kumar Jain today met Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal and held a detailed discussion on the issues related to Arhtiyas.
In the meeting, Chief Minister said that the procurement of crops of farmers is done by the government so as to ensure that they are benefitted and this will not be discontinued in future as well. Government procurement of wheat, paddy, millet, maize, mustard, sunflower and cotton etc. will continue in Haryana as before.
Besides this, only Haryana Government provides benefit to the farmers on several fruits and vegetables through ‘Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojana’. Under this scheme benefit is given to farmers by compensating the rate difference of prices as suggested by State.
If farmers can get a higher price than MSP anywhere else in the market, then Government through the newly passed bills has given permission to farmers to sell their crops outside the mandis as well.
Arhtiyas are an integral part of this system and the Government has appointed them by giving them licenses. The government always works for the welfare of the farmers as well as the Arhtiyas. Harming anyone is not the objective of the government.
