Haryana: State Vigilance Bureau nabs ALM and SI while accepting bribe

Zero tolerance policy against corruption: State Vigilance Bureau registered 8 enquiries and completed 9 enquiries during February

Chandigarh, Feb 2 – Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has arrested an ALM of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) and a police official, red-handed while accepting bribe worth Rs 5000 and Rs 1000 respectively. Both the officials have been booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Sharing the information in this regard here today, a spokesperson of the Bureau said that the first case is related to Palwal district, wherein the Bureau team had caught Hariom, ALM of DHBVN posted at Sub-Division Sub Urban, Palwal while accepting bribe money of Rs 5000 from the complainant Dharamveer Nath in lieu of correction in his electricity bill.

He further informed that in another case, Sub-Inspector (SI) Jaichand of Police Station Central Faridabad in district Faridabad has been caught red-handed by the Vigilance Bureau while accepting bribe of Rs 1000 from complainant Narender Nagar of Tigaon village. The accused police officer demanded the money in lieu of processing the case for filing charge sheet in the Court.

Cases under the Prevention of Corruption Act had been registered against the accused in Bureau’s police station Faridabad. The investigation of the cases is in progress.
