Chandigarh, September 24 – Haryana Education Minister, Mr. Kanwar Pal welcomed the official launch of the National Education Policy, 2020 across the country and said that to implement the New Education Policy Haryana was the first state to organise a four-day digital conclave of academicians in Chandigarh.
He said that Haryana will be the first state in the country to implement the New Education Policy. The state has given permission to open schools for classes from 9th to 12th while adhering to the COVID-19 guidelines issued by the Union Home Ministry. Apart from this, the process of online admission for the first year of graduation has been started by the Higher Education Department and soon the colleges and universities will be opened.
The Education Minister has also expressed gratitude to President of the Haryana State Higher Education Council, Prof. Brij Kishore Kuthiala, under whose guidance the Conclave of Academics was organized and important suggestions were compiled and incorporated to implement the New Education Policy.
He said that once again the Atam Nirbhar Haryana Seminar is being organized by the Council tomorrow, in which Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal will give his address. This seminar is based on agriculture, industry, trade and education.
He said that the National Education Policy is going to lay the foundation for a 21st century India. This policy has been announced after 34 years. The main feature of this policy is to bring about fundamental changes in school education, with a focus on three aspects. Among these three aspects are firstly ensuring continuity in education of school dropouts, secondly emphasis on pre-school education, and thirdly to enhance the level of education to the international level.
