The district administration today conducted second randomization to deploy manpower for the ensuing assembly polls in the presence of the officers of the district administration and representatives of the political parties here at the District Administrative Complex.

The randomization was held  in the presence of the General Election Observers Annavi Dinesh Kumar IAS, Prabhanshu Kumar Srivastav IAS, Dev Raj Dev IAS, Shesh Nath IAS, TN Venkatesh IAS, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma and Additional District Election Officer-cum-Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Rahul Chaba.

The Randomization was held for deployment of around 20,000 employees from centre and state governments, banks and public sector undertaking who have been assigned several duties during the polls. As per the requirement in election, the employees have been assigned duty as counting, polling and supporting staff besides utilizing their services for micro-observers.

The randomization was aimed at assigning duties to the staff for the polling schedule to take place on February 20. The randomization was done for deployment of polling parties at polling booths of the district. Several employees have been deputed as Presiding Officers (PRO), Polling Officers (PO) during the polls and adequate staff would also be deputed for counting to be held on March 10.

The DC stated that around 20,000 employees including polling staff and Returning Officer’s supporting staff have been deployed on poll duties in the district. He said that no stone to be left unturned for smooth conduct of elections in Ludhiana.
