The programme for the General Election-2022 of the Municipal Council Narwar of Shivpuri district has been announced by the State Election Commission. Voting will be held on March 6 from 7 am to 6 pm.

Secretary State Election Commission Shri BS Jamod has informed that publication of election information and collection of nomination papers will be held from February 11, 2022. The last date for receipt of nomination papers is February 18, 2022. Nomination papers will be taken on this day till 3 pm. The scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on February 19. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is February 21. The allotment of election symbols to the candidates will also be done on February 21. Polling will be held on March 6 and counting of votes and declaration of election results will be held on March 9 from 9 am. It is noteworthy that the election of Municipal Council Narwar is being conducted in compliance with the order passed by the High Court Bench Gwalior on February 8, 2022. The election of the President and Vice-Chairman of the Municipal Council will be done indirectly by the elected corporators. The election will be conducted as per the electoral roll published on January 1, 2021, according to the reservation of the post of Mayor/Chairman published on October 21, 2014 and the reservation of wards made by Collector Shivpuri. Voting will be done through the Electronic Voting Machine.

Shri Jamod has informed that instructions have been given to conduct all the processes from the issuance of election information to the declaration of election results through the online application IEMS that has been developed by the State Election Commission. With the announcement of the election programme, the model code of conduct has become effective in the area of ​​the concerned urban body. It will be effective till the declaration of election result. Instructions have been given to the District Election Officer to strictly follow the Model Code of Conduct. It is mandatory for every candidate to submit an affidavit in the format prescribed by the Commission along with his nomination paper. It will contain information about the candidate’s criminal background, movable and immovable property and liabilities and educational qualification etc. Instructions have also been given to ensure compliance of Covid guidelines and protocols in the election process.
