Farmer Ramgopal Did Wonders
Where there is a will, there is bound to be a way. If a person is determined in his mind to do something new, then he definitely gets success. Shri Ramgopal, a farmer of Sirsoda village of Bhind district, has proved this true. Farmer Shri Ramgopal has adopted organic farming while giving up farming based on chemical fertiliser. Ramgopal is getting very good profit from organic farming. Ramgopal has now become a source of inspiration for the farmers of his village.
Farmer Shri Ramgopal was able to take normal production by cultivating his fields in the traditional way by growing jowar, millet, sesame in Kharif and mustard, wheat in Rabi. He used to grow one crop in the whole year. This was enough only to support the family.
After getting educated, farmer Shri Ramgopal dug a well for growing horticulture crops on about 1 hectare on a portion of his total land to bring about change in farming and started potato cultivation. Farmer Shri Ramgopal took part in the training programme of Krishi Vigyan Kendra by contacting the officials of Department of Agriculture and Horticulture to get technical knowledge of horticulture farming. He learnt horticulture farming techniques and now he is using self prepared vermicompost, bacterial manure for organic farming.
Farmer Shri Ramgopal is using self-made manure and using cow urine along with other organic chemicals for pest control. This gives good production at low cost. Farmer Ramgopal is now earning double the income than before. Growing four crops in a field. Farmer Ramgopal told that he is satisfied with the use of compost prepared by organic method. Shri Ramgopal is also doing the work of encouraging other farmer brothers of the village to take up organic farming.
