Chandigarh 12 Feb 2022 :- The UGC Committee of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, under the aegis of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, organised a workshop for teaching faculty on ‘Excel Made Easy’. The resource person, Dr. Swati Sidana, Assistant Professor, PG Department of Mathematics provided hands on training to 40 members of teaching faculty from varied disciplines on various functions and commands of MS Excel. Besides providing a detailed introduction to Excel and it’s various versions, Dr. Swati shared insights into usage of Excel including applying various formulas and functions, formatting of data, inserting graphs and charts, maintaing students’ records, sorting and filteration of data. The session ended with an interactive session wherein Dr. Swati cleared the faculty’s doubts.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava lauded the initiative of the IQAC and UGC Committee to empower teachers with skills in the usage of MS Excel for effective teaching-learning. She added that in this digital era, such workshops are imperative for capacity building of faculty.
