Acting swiftly on a complaint received by Derabassi Election general Observer Sh Ajay Gupta and Expenditure Observer Sh S Janardhan regarding illegal liquor stored at a shop near Green Valley Township, Gulabgarh to Behra Road, Dera Bassi, the district election machinery has made recovery of 50 boxes of Illegally stored Liquor of value Rs 4,20,000/-.

Disclosing this in a press communique Mrs. Swati Tiwana , SDM cum Returning Officer Dera Bassi Assembly constituency said that after the authorities got the complaint of this storage of illegal liqour, FST – 5 team was dispatched to the spot immediately. The Mohali Excise team along with Police personnel of Dera Bassi police station were also called on the spot.
These teams after reaching the spot, tried to contact the owner of the property. When the owner of the property didn’t respond the calls made by teams. She said that subsequently, a key maker was called and shutter was opened under FST videography. During search of the shop in presence of two independent witnesses, 50 cases of Royal Challenge Whiskey (For sale in Haryana only) was seized. The whisky is manufactured by Uited Spirits Limited at Haryana Liquors Pvt Ltd Village Jundla, Karnal having batch no 82/L-5 DTD 10.02.2022. FIR No 70 dated 15.02.2022 under Punjab Excise Act 1914 has been registered at Police Station Dera Bassi. She said that this shop belonged to the accused Jaspreet Singh.
