Haryana State Board of Technical Education (HSBTE) signs MoU with Jindal Stainless

Chandigarh, February 21– With the vision to empower the students studying in the Polytechnics, Haryana State Board of Technical Education, Panchkula signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Jindal Stainless (Hisar) Ltd. today with the joint objective to promote technical education in the field of stainless steel technology and applications. The MoU was signed by Secretary, HSBTE, Sh. Rajesh Goyal and Senior Vice President, Manufacturing, Jindal Stainless (Hisar) Limited, Sh. Vijay Bindlish in the presence of Additional Chief Secretary, Technical & Higher Education, Sh. Anand Mohan Sharan  and Director, Jindal Stainless, Sh. Vijay Sharma.

While lauding this initiative and congratulating Jindal Stainless, Sh. Anand Mohan Sharan said that with this partnership, the faculty and students will get hands-on industry experience, insights, and training to prepare future-ready professionals.

Speaking for the stainless steel industry, Sh. Vijay Sharma expressed his delight and said that this MoU will not only foster an ecosystem for growth and adoption of stainless steel but also will pave the way for a series of professional courses for students and equip them with technical exposure on stainless steel applications in the industry.

Director General, Sh. Rajeev Ratan applauded this initiative and Secretary HSBTE, Dr. Rajesh Goyal, said that this MoU will be a stepping stone in making the youth of Haryana self employable envisioning “Atamnirbhar Bharat”.

As per the partnership, two modules on stainless steel will be launched; one compulsory module will be launched for the Mechanical Engineering students of 4th semester in all Government Polytechnics across Haryana and will have 10 lectures. This will be institutionalized across all the Polytechnic colleges in Haryana, benefitting more than 3,000 students every year. The courses are planned to be introduced from March 2022 onwards. In addition to this, a 3-credit 42-lecture elective course will be launched at Government Polytechnic (GP), Hisar for the fifth semester Mechanical Engineering students.

The equipment required for conducting the practicals on fabrication with Stainless Steel will be installed by JSHL at GP Hisar. The students, in addition to job opportunities, will also gain hands-on industry experience, insights and training.

Mahender Singh, Principal Government Polytechnic Hisar, Sh. Ashok Kumar, HOD Mechanical,  Sh. Subhash Bhoriya, Head Human Resources, Jindal Stainless Hisar, Ltd., Sh. Praneet Kumar; General Manager, Sales & Distribution, Sh. Ranit Rana, and DGM, Legal & External Relations, Sh. OP Agarwal.

HSBTE and JS(H)L envisage this association as long term fruitful association to promote technical education in the field of Stainless Technology and developing an ecosystem of practical knowledge, innovation, sustainability and enhancing employability.
