Iconic Week Celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav at PU

Chandigarh March 9, 2022

NSS in collaboration with Girls Hostel-5, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized a Plantation Drive on 4^th day of Iconic Week Celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Prof. Prashant Kumar Gautam, Director, Directorate of Sports was the chief guest for the event.

Dr. Naveen Kumar, coordinator of the event, welcomed the guests and inspired the students to participate in such drives dedicated towards saving planet.

Dr. Nidhi Gautam, the convener of the event, motivated the participant to own these plants for sustainable outcomes. Around 30 samplings of different varieties like Hibiscus, Kaner, and Nerium Indicum were planted by faculty members, staff and NSS volunteers. The event was attended by Programme officers including Dr. Shankar Sehgal, Dr. Anuj Kumar, Dr. Simran Preet, Dr. Rohit Kumar Sharma, Dr. Richa Sharma, Dr. Naresh Kumar and Dr. Jaget from University Institute of Engineering and Technology and 70 NSS volunteers.
