Chandigarh, March 14  Haryana Development and Panchayat Minister, Sh. Devender Singh Babli, while responding to a question asked during the ongoing Budget session, said that the state government is providing pension benefits to the Ex-President and Ex-Vice-President of Zila Parishads, Ex-Chairman and Vice-Chairman of Panchayat Samitis and Ex-Sarpanch, Gram Panchayats.

        Divulging detailed information in the House, the Development and Panchayat Minister said that on March 1, 2019, the State Government has given the benefit of pension to those Ex-Presidents and Ex-Vice-Presidents of Zila Parishads, Ex-Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen of Panchayat Samitis and Ex-Sarpanch, Gram Panchayats, who were elected in the year 1994 or after.

        He said that along with this, the pension benefit is given only for one post for one term only to those beneficiaries who have completed more than 2.5 years of tenure and who are not taking any other type of pension except old-age pension.

        The Cabinet Minister said that the beneficiary can get the benefit of this pension only by submitting their application to the concerned officer.

He said that such beneficiaries residing in the  Block Morni who have submitted applications, of which 55 Ex Sarpanch, four Ex President, Panchayat Samiti and three Ex Vice President, Panchayat Samiti have been paid pension till December 2021.

        He further informed the House that the Ex Sarpanch of Gram Panchayats of Block Morni, Ex President and Vice President of Panchayat Samiti, Morni, whose term has ended in 2021, have not yet submitted their application for the benefit of this pension. He said that on receipt of the application, they would also be given the benefit of pension.
