The Central Placement Cell organised “ACADEMIA INDUSTRY INTERFACE” on 29 March 2022in Online Mode for the students to get an insight into the Industry Trends and Expectations. More than 250 students across various university departments participated in the event. The dignitaries invited from the industry were Dr. Dinesh Dua, Executive Director, Nectar Life Sciences Ltd., Mr. Vivek Atray, ex IAS, Motivational Speaker, Author, Mr. Shubham Tripathi, Senior Manager HR, Zee Media, Mr. Harshvir Singh, Managing Director, Drish Infotech, and Ekant Agarwal, CEO and Founder of “CBMA” Consortium of Business Mentors and Advisors – a unit of “Ekant Associates” operational in education sector.
The theme of the event was introduced by Dr. Amandeep Singh Marwaha, Associate Director, Central Placement Cell. Prof Meena Sharma (Director, Central Placement) officially welcomed the dignitaries and highlighted the need for strong industry academia relationship for both the stakeholders. She also informed about the various initiative of the Central Placement Cell to bridge this gap and preparing the students though a practical approach for future.
Dr. Dinesh Dua emphasized that the corporate and universities both are now hungry for collaboration by developing special areas of interest through sustained program of networking. He highlighted that the industry needs take initiative now at all levels like Strategic, Tactical or Operational initiatives He informed that Product Linked Incentive Scheme has committed an incentive of 1.46 trillion rupees to boost local manufacturing . Mr. Vivek Atray inspired the youngsters to adopt a cheerful, positive and multi-dimensional approach to their lives. Mr. Shubham Tripathi, Senior Manager HR, Zee Media, motivated the students and shared the latest practices about the Implementation of HR tools, HR Bots etc and its Implementation. He further informed that students should manage multiple priorities, and perform under pressure in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. Mr. Harshvir Singh advised the students about the current corporate industry need and also encouraged the students to visit the various IT organisations to know about the requirements and start working on projects and internships.
Mr Ekant Agarwal with his talk shared real-life examples. He highlighted the importance of building a viable and sustainable eco system with clearly defined roles and keeping passion and professional life different.
Dr. Amandeep Singh Marwaha proposed the formal vote of thanks and highlighted that this event gave the students an insight into the corporate world and expectations of the industry from students and what attributes does the company look for in the candidates during the recruitment process.
