Legal action will be taken against the offenders- Sh. Vij
Chandigarh, April 1 – Haryana Health and Family Welfare Minister, Sh. Anil Vij, who also holds the portfolio of the Food and Drug Administration Department, said that the team of Food and Drug Administration Department raided the premises of Aashirwad Clinic, Sector-7, Karnal, which was blatantly running the open counter of pharmacy without a license. Taking strong action, the counter of the pharmacy has been closed. Also, legal action will be taken against the offenders after completing the investigation.
Sharing information in this regard, Sh. Vij said that Senior Drug Control Officer, Karnal, Gurcharan Singh and Drug Control Officer, Karnal, Ritu, acted on a secret complaint regarding the sale of allopathic medicines in Aashirwad Clinic recently. During the raid it came to light that a person was issuing cash memos without any valid drug license in the absence of a registered pharmacist.
He said that during the investigation, the team found a counter of the dispensary set up in the clinic which was being run by Sanjay Arya s/o Sh. V.B. Arya. Various types of allopathic medicines were recovered from this counter. During investigation, Sanjay Arya revealed that he is a graduate in Science (B.Sc.) and is working in this dispensary for the last five years at a salary of Rs 15,000 per month. When asked about the legal documents, he could not produce any valid drug sales license required for stocking, sale or distribution of allopathic medicines. However, Sanjay Arya said that Dr. Sachin Kapoor is the owner of this counter and clinic and all the medicines are bought in his name.
He said that Dr. Sachin Kapoor has been contacted through his staff on his mobile and Dr. Sachin Kapoor expressed his inability to reach the spot as he was out of station. During the course of investigation, samples of 10 types of allopathic medicines were collected for testing and analysis from the medicines stocked under Form-17/17-A as per the procedure prescribed under the provision and challan was also issued.
Sh. Vij said that he would not let anyone play with peoples’ health in the state and this type of action would be continued in future as well to ensure supply of appropriate medicines to the people.
