Chandigarh, September 26- Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Dushyant Chautala today reviewed the progress of the bridges being constructed by Public Works Department in Gurugram.
While presiding over the meeting of Senior Officers of the Department, the Deputy Chief Minister while on one hand set a deadline for all the bridges being constructed in the State on the other, he directed the senior officers to take stock of the progress of the construction work from time to time.
He said that the officers should try to ensure that the construction is completed within the stipulated timeline and there is no unnecessary delay in completing the projects. In the meeting, he reviewed the ongoing works of construction projects of 55 bridges being carried out across the state.
During the review, three bridge projects related to Gurugram district were discussed.
Superintendent Engineer of Public Works Department, Mr. Rajiv Yadav apprised the Deputy Chief Minister that the construction work of railway underbridge has started near village Dhanwapur at an estimated cost of Rs 8.12 crore which will be completed in about a year.
Similarly, a bridge is being constructed at Faridabad-Gurugram road near village Bandhwari at a cost of about Rs. 11.22 crore. About 60 percent work of this project has been completed.
He also informed that the construction work of underpass at Rao Mahaveer Singh Chowk near the main bus stand in Gurugram is also going on. About 11 percent of the work of this project has been completed and it also includes the improvement work for the intersections of Rao Mahaveer Singh Chowk and Maharaja Agrasen Chowk. An amount of Rs 56 crores will be spent on this project.
On this occasion, in the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary, Public Works Department, Mr. Rajeev Arora directed all the departmental officers to ensure that the project has got administrative approval, and the sites where the projects are to be built are free from all disputes before the foundation stone of the project is laid. Financial cost should be estimated correctly, he added.
Accordingly, the time to complete the project should also be determined, after that the construction should be completed within the stipulated time period.
