KISHTWAR, OCTOBER 13. One Stop Centre (Sakhi) – of the Ministry of Women and Child Development was today started at office building of Integrated Child Protection Services Kishtwar. The 24-hour Sakhi centre will work at the office building of Integrated Child Protection Services Kishtwar on temporary basis till its identified building is ready, said Additional District Development Commissioner, (ADDC), Mohammad Hanief Malik at the inaugural function. Senior Consultant Ministry of Women and Child Development, Govt. of India, Dr. Japuka Madhavi was also present.
Importantly, Dr. Japuka Madhavi gave a detailed description of the One Stop Center (Sakhi) and said that its motive is to safeguard the rights of women. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Pawan Parihar; Joint Director Planning, Mohammad Iqbal; Assistant Commissioner Development, Kishore Singh Katoch; District Social Welfare Officer, Tariq Parvez Qazi; Child Development Project Officer, Nisar Ahmed; Child Protection Officer (NIC), Touseef Iqbal Butt; Rakesh Kumar (Sakhi Doda Coordinator), Officers from Mahila Shakti Kendra Kishtwar and representative of JK bank and ICPS attended the meeting.
After that Dr. Madhavi (Sr. Consultant) said that the facility is created to give integrated services like medical, legal, psychosocial support and temporary shelter under one roof to the women victims of domestic violence and other forms of crimes. She said the Centre comes under the Nirbhaya fund, under the National Commission for Empowerment of Women by the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
