This time the theme of Yoga Day is “Yoga for Humanity”- Vij
Chandigarh, June 13 :- Haryana Health and AYUSH Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that on June 21, 8th International Yoga Day will be celebrated with a focus on Mass Yoga Demonstration with Yoga Protocol and International Yoga Day 2022 will be “Brand India Globally” and “Showcase Its Iconic Places”. This year the theme of Yoga Day is “Yoga for Humanity”.
Sh. Vij was presiding over a review meeting on the preparations for International Yoga Day through video conferencing with all the Deputy Commissioners of the State and officials of Health and AYUSH Departments here today. Additional Chief Secretary, Health Department, Sh. Rajiv Arora and DGP, Sh. PK Agarwal were also present.
It was informed in the meeting that this time the theme of Yoga Day is “Yoga for Humanity”. This time it has also been decided to celebrate Yoga Day 2022 at 75 iconic sites across the country. This time the Government of India has set a target to cover 25 crore participants by partnering with the states.
It was also informed in the meeting that a three-day training program would be conducted in different phases from May 28 to June 15 to celebrate International Yoga Day. Similarly, on June 20, pilot rehearsal of Yoga Days and Yoga Marathon will be done in all districts in which students of schools and colleges, NCC cadets, officers and employees of government departments, public representatives, members of Panchayati Raj institutions etc. will be involved.
It was informed in the meeting that state level International Yoga Day would be organized in Bhiwani while district level programmes will be organized in 21 districts. Similarly, Yoga Day programmes will be organized in 122 blocks. The Common Yoga Protocol will begin at 7 am and Yoga Day programmes will be organized at two iconic sites in the state which include Rakhigadi in Hisar and Kurukshetra. Union Minister, Sh. Krishan Pal Gurjar in Hisar and Union Minister, Rao Inderjit Singh in Kurukshetra will be the chief guests.
It was informed in the meeting that there will be 10,000 public participants at the state level while 5,000 people will participate at the district level. At the same time, 500 people will participate at the block level. It was informed in the meeting that to celebrate International Yoga Day, Education Department, Higher Education Department, Sports Department, Police Department, Development and Panchayat Department, Urban Local Bodies Department, Health Department, Transport Department, Art and Cultural Department, Archeology Department, Tourism Department, Department of Information, Public Relations and Languages will have a special contribution.
It was informed in the meeting that 337 AYUSH Health and Wellness Centres will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister and the Health Minister during the state level programme.
Director General, AYUSH Department, Dr Saket Kumar and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
