Union Minister Shekhawat held meeting with district officials to review the progress of central schemes

Jal Shakti Minister Government of India Gajendra Singh Shekhawat today held a high level meeting with the officers of the district administration to take stock of the various pro-people central schemes being run in the district. The meeting was held at the district administrative complex SAS Nagar.
All administrative officers of the district including Deputy Commissioner Amit Talwar were present in this review meeting.
During the meeting, the Minister of Jal Shakti, Government of India, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat thoroughly reviewed the works executed by the District Administration regarding the maintenance of water resources and the work done for the implementation of various pro-people central schemes. During the meeting, while taking note of the central schemes, he exhorted the officers to scale up efforts to reuse the waste water of cities and villages in a good manner so that the level of water falling under the earth could be raised. While applauding the efforts of district administration in increasing the green cover he said that the saplings that have been planted with the purpose of increasing greenery in the district are also very important in view of the prevention of pollution.
At the beginning of the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Amit Talwar informed the Union Minister about the resources created for water conservation under the Jal Shakti campaign and the work done in this regard. Apart from this, he informed the Union Minister, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in detail about the completed projects under various central schemes in the district and the status of the ongoing projects.
District Forest Officer, Kanwardeep Singh apprised the union minister about the sources of water conservation in the forest area, which the Union Minister accepted as correct and asked him to further upscale their efforts In the direction of water conservation. Meanwhile, the Union Minister asked the officials to go to the ground level and educate the people about the conservation of water and its proper use from time to time. In the end, the Union Minister expressed his satisfaction over the implementation of the central schemes in a good manner and the progress of the district.
Prominent amongst those who were present in the meeting included Commissioner Municipal Corporation, Navjot Kaur, Additional Deputy Commissioner Amaninder Kaur Brar, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development), Pooja S Grewal, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development), Amardeep Singh Gujral, SDM , SAS Nagar Sarabjit Kaur, SDM Kharar, Ravinder Singh, SDM Derabassi, Himmashu Gupta, BJP leader Balbir Singh Sidhu and officers of various departments.
