Chandigarh, October 22 – Vice Chancellor, Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, Prof. Samar Singh said that reliable and excellent quality of data is the first priority of any research result. Statistical assessment is vital aspect for the social and economic development of any country. For this we need to strengthen statistical capability and develop new technology, he added.
He was addressing the scientists on the 3rd World Statistics Day which was organized online by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics of College of Basic Sciences and Humanities at the University here today.
He called upon the scientists to make more innovative efforts in this direction so that data can be exchanged globally for discoveries in the field of Agricultural Education, Medical Science, Commerce and Social Sciences.
He said that a panel discussion was organized on behalf of the Department, in which all the scientists discussed in detail about the reliability and statistical analysis of the data. He said that reliable statistical information plays an important role in regard to the measures to deal with the situation of COVID-19 pandemic.
