-SPORTS MINISTER MEET HAYER HONORS PLAYER DAMNEET MANN AT HIS HOME

–TO CREATE NATIONAL LEVEL PLAYERS, IT’S IMPORTANT TO ENCOURAGE YOUNG ACHIEVERS

The Minister for Sports, Punjab, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer today visited residence and honored athlete Damneet Mann who has brought accolades to the state by creating a record in 67.62 m hammer throw event at the ongoing 36th National Games in Gujrat.

Congratulating the athlete on behalf of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Meet Hayer said that Damneet was the future of Indian athletics and the country had pinned high hopes on him. He also congratulated Damneet’svfathee S Baldev Singh, whose consistent efforts have brought Damneet to a high pedestal.

He added that in order to ensure churning out of national level players from Punjab it was necessary that the high achievers are constantly encouraged. He added that Punjab government was committed towards providing the best in terms of opportunities and infrastructure to the sports persons.

It is better than to mention here that earlier Navneet Singh Mann had participated in World Youth Athletics Championship and Youth Asian Championship wherein he had won accolades.

Now at the national games be held in Gujarat, the Damneet Mann had broken previous record of 11 years and bagged a gold medal in hammer throw. Damneet gets coaching from coach Dr Sukhraj Singh Batth.
