The newly instituted Economics Society of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, organised an intra-college Debate. The theme of the debate was based on current affairs, including national and international economic issues in the spheres of healthcare, education, technology, cryptocurrency, government policies and the public sector. 26 students from various disciplines participated in the debate. The topic for the final round was ‘Tertiary education is a prerequisite for growth in a developing nation’. The first, second and third positions were awarded to Dhanu (B.Com III), Kareena Sant (BA III) and Vinus Thakur (BA III), respectively. The winners were awarded cash prizes and certificates.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava said that the establishment of Economics Society is an excellent initiative of the Economics Department and its students. She motivated all the participants to keep up the enthusiasm and participate in the furure events of the society.
