The Jammu and Kashmir Government has shifted about 7,15,353 JK residents, left in other parts of the country due to COVID lockdown, via Lakhanpur with help of special trains and buses. As per the given data received in this regard, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has received 155 special trains at Jammu and Udhampur railway stations from different states and UTs with about 1,40,292 passengers while about 5,75,061 persons from other states and UTs including 937 from abroad have been shifted by the government through Lakhanpur. As per the detailed breakup of the figures, about 9554 stranded passengers have entered through Lakhanpur from October 25 to October 26 mornings while 134 trains have reached Jammu with a total of 124,596 stranded passengers from different districts so far while 15,696 passengers have arrived Udhampur in 21 special trains, so far.
