Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala said that journalism is facing many challenges these days. Many changes have taken place in journalism, from pen to keyboard. In this change, the challenge of who came first is also coming to the fore. Apart from this, he has started molding the story. For this, journalists get to learn in the field itself. Therefore, journalists should do journalism in a clear, transparent manner while maintaining balance. The Deputy Chief Minister was speaking today at the state level convention, felicitation and seminar function organized by Chandigarh and Haryana Journalist Union about the challenges faced by the media. In the program, Deputy Chief Minister Mr Dushyant Chautala and MP Mr Karthikeya Sharma honored the editors of newspapers continuously published from Haryana. These include Mr Narendra Singh Bhatia City Media Ambala, Mr Surendra Bhatia Palpal, Mr Devendra Uppal Pathak Paksha, Mr Ajay Bhatia Jagat Kranti, Mr Kailash Jain Arth Prakash, Mr ShriBhagwan Vashishtha Dainik Chetna, Mr Anil Arya Gurgaon Today, Mr Rajesh Kumar Samachar Kyari, Mr Shrikant Arya Naya Lokyug, Mr Yadram Bansal Gurgaon. In the seminar, Mr Ramesh Vinayak, editor of Hindutan Times, Mr Naresh Kaushal, editor of Dainik Tribune, Mr Satnam Singh Manak, executive editor of Ajit Group, made a comprehensive mention of the continuous changes in the field of journalism and the challenges before the media. IJU National President Mr K Niwas Reddy, former President Mr SN Sinha, National General Secretary Mr Balwinder Jammu, State President Mr Ramsingh Brar, State Mr Chairman Balwant Takshak, State General General Mr Surendra Goyal also presented their views on the challenges and changing environment facing journalism.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the input of a single vocabulary can bring a change in the life of any person. This should definitely be considered. Everyone should work together to maintain the ethics of journalism, only then can we move forward facing the challenges. The Deputy Chief Minister said that the future is very challenging in the era of Artificial Intelligence. It is important to maintain the right type of facts in every type of news, only then the truth can be delivered to the common citizens. This also requires advanced transparency. He said that the input of social media will always remain for the future. For this, quality will also have to be maintained.
Dushyant Chautala said that the Information, Public Relations and Language Department is also working to open media centers at the district level for the facilities of journalists. Therefore, journalists should keep working with clean honesty to move forward. The Deputy Chief Minister said that the government recently increased the pension of journalists from Rs 10 thousand to Rs 15 thousand. Apart from this, many types of facilities are being provided to journalists. On the demand of the union, he announced to provide the benefit of cashless health facility soon and Rs 11 lakh from his discretionary fund and Rs 5 lakh from Rajya Sabha MP Karthikeya Sharma to the union. Mr Chautala said that among the HSVP plots, 20 plots have been earmarked separately for journalists, lawyers and judges. Efforts will be made to provide this facility at the district level also. He asked the union to take action regarding opening a media center in Panchkula. Rajya Sabha MP Karthikeya Sharma said that journalism keeps changing mediums but it is never going to end. Rather it has a bright future. Even during the Corona period, trust among people has been established on the standards of traditional media. He said that the credibility of that news and story increases only when the real content reaches the people. It is mandatory for journalists to be completely efficient in their work, only then they can make their future more happy and prosperous. He assured to discuss the issue of railway passes and the benefit of exemption in toll tax on the demand of the union.
