The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) gave a big blow to Congress in the Majha region on Thursday. Prominent figure of Majha and Congress’s 2022 assembly elections candidate from Majitha Jagwinder Pal Singh, also known as Jagga Majitha, joined the Aam Aadmi Party. He was officially inducted and welcomed to the party by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
Jagwinder Pal Singh Jagga was a Congress worker since 1987 and was elected councilor in 1992. He was Youth Punjab Congress’s general secretary in 1999 and was also given the responsibility of district president of Amritsar rural in early 2000s. He contested Punjab’s 2022 assembly elections on Congress ticket. Having a political career and experience of more than 3 decades he has a very good hold and influence in Majitha.
Ahead of municipal corporation elections in the state and General elections next time, many big leaders and prominent figures are turning towards the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab. After welcoming Jagga Majitha to the AAP fold, CM Mann said that the people of Punjab are very happy with the working and policies of the AAP government. He said that we are working diligently to take the state forward in every field and the leaders who want to work for the people of Punjab are welcome in the AAP. Mann added that the party is getting stronger day by day in every corner of the country. In Punjab we have a record majority government but everyday more people are joining us.
