Live streaming of Western Zone Vice Chancellor’s Conference  on implementation of NEP 2020 at MCM

The Western Zone Vice Chancellor’s Conference on the Implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 organized by The Maharaj Sayajirao University of Baroda, Gujarat was live-streamed at three venues at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Sector 36-A, Chandigarh. The Conference was attended by the Honorable Chief Minister of Gujarat and delegates from the field of education from all over the country including Centre and State Education Ministers, Chairpersons of UGC and AICTE, Vice Chancellors from many Universities of national repute, Government officials, policy makers, researchers and representatives from industry and civil society organizations.
As expressed by Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, the healthy debate around the implementation and review of National Education Policy 2020 will benefit the country’s education system. The conference provided a forum for churning ideas and developing collective strategies along with a better understanding of the impact of the Policy on Higher Education in India.
The venues in the college were arranged for maximum participation of students and faculty. Around 200 students and staff members attended the live streaming of the Conference. The link to the live streaming was shared with the students and many of them watched it on their respective devices as well. The delegates reinforced the need for brainstorming ideas to ensure that a synergic effect is achieved with the implementation of NEP 2020. For any educational institution to remain robust, it is crucial that the changes in the surroundings are reflected in the education system and this conference was an expression of fulfillment of this objective.
The principal of the college, Dr. Nisha Bhargava, expressed her gratitude to the UGC for this endeavor of reaching out to a large section of stakeholders in the field of Education by requesting to arrange the live streaming. She added that the DAVs have a steadfast commitment to ensuring that Higher Education remains accessible and flexible and responds to the dynamism in all walks of life and that the vision for the Higher Education system in our country must stay rooted in the ethos of our culture to make it truly meaningful.
