vAman Arora Visits Hyderabad to explore Best Practices in IT, Innovations & Technology-Driven Policing

  • Holds discussions with prominent IT companies— Tech Mahindra, Goldmine Animations, etc—, invites IT investments to Punjab

Chandigarh, November 17:

Punjab Governance Reforms and Grievances Minister Mr. Aman Arora embarked on a study tour to Hyderabad in Telangana, to delve into the state’s pioneering practices in the realm of IT, innovations, and technology-enabled policing. This visit aligns with the mandate bestowed upon him by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann to enhance service delivery and leverage technology to improve governance across the state.

Mr. Aman Arora was accompanied by Principal Secretary Governance Reforms Mr Tejveer Singh and a delegation of senior officials from the Punjab Government. They commenced their exploration at the Citizen Service Delivery Centres, ‘MeeSeva,’ to gain insights into Telangana’s efficient service delivery mechanisms. They meticulously examined the state’s IT initiatives, encompassing emerging technologies, data Centre operations and the implementation of AI/ML/Blockchain, Big Data, and their practical applications.

Additionally, they delved into the strategies employed by the Telangana government to foster skill development within the state and assessed the policies and infrastructure established to nurture startups.

To further augment their understanding of technology’s role in governance, Mr Aman Arora and his team visited the Command and Control Centre, where they witnessed firsthand how Hyderabad Police harnesses technology to maintain law and order while streamlining citizens’ lives.

In a bid to attract IT investments to Punjab,  the Governance Reforms Minister engaged in fruitful discussions with prominent IT companies including Tech Mahindra, Green Gold Animations etc., extending an invitation to them to establish their presence in the state. He reaffirmed the Punjab government’s unwavering commitment to provide a supportive ecosystem that fosters the growth and success of IT businesses.

The delegation concluded their visit today and is poised to present a comprehensive report to Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, outlining recommendations for the advancement of IT, innovations, and technology-driven governance in the Punjab state.

“Telangana is a leader in IT and innovation, and we have a lot to learn from them,” said Mr. Aman Arora while adding that, “We are committed to improving service delivery and governance in Punjab, and we will use technology to achieve our goals.”

In addition, Mr. Aman Arora  explored the ways in which the Telangana government is enhancing skill development in the state. The Cabinet Minister also met representatives of the state’s startup ecosystem like We-Hub, T-Hub. He encouraged them to invest in Punjab, citing that the state has a strong talent pool and a supportive government.

 “Punjab is a great place to start a business. We have a talented workforce, a supportive government, and a growing economy. I encourage startups to invest in Punjab and be a part of our success story”, said Mr Aman Arora.

Recognising the growing importance of climate change,  the Governance Reforms Minister and his delegation visited the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad Campus to explore potential collaborations in addressing climate challenges. They discussed opportunities for implementing a data portal and other e-Governance projects that could aid in improving service delivery and tackling climate change-related issues in Punjab.
