Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid tribute to Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar on his Mahaparinirvan Divas. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan garlanded his portrait and paid tributes in the auditorium located at his residence office.
Dr. Ambedkar was a jurist, economist, politician and social reformer. He campaigned against social discrimination and supported the rights of workers, farmers and women. He was the father of the Indian Constitution, the first Law and Justice Minister of independent India and one of the founding fathers of the Republic of India. Dr. Ambedkar had said – “Untouchability is worse than slavery.” He was posthumously awarded Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour in 1990. Dr. Ambedkar died on 6 December 1956 in Delhi. He was born on 14 April. He was born in 1891 in Mhow military cantonment in Madhya Pradesh.
