Senior Superintendent of Police, Rupnagar Gulneet Singh Khurana on Thursday said that the 2 accused were arrested by solving the case of suicide after rape of a minor girl of village Dhamana falling under Nurpurbedi police station.
In a press statement issued here, He said that the victim girl was returning from the Gurdwara Sahib of village Nodhe Majra on December 30, 2023, when she was raped by two youths, after which the victim committed suicide by eating something poisonous.
Gulneet Singh Khurana said that case number 157 dated 31.12.2023 under section 323,341,363,366,307D, 306 IPC, 6 POCSO Act, 3 SC and ST Act was registered against these accused atNurpurbedi police station.
He said that the accused Dinesh Gujjar resident of Golumajra police station Nurpurbedi has been arrested on 01.01.2024 by district police and the other accused Harsh Rana resident of village Dhamana Nurpurbedi has been arrested on 03.01.2024. He said that the investigation of the case will soon be completed and the challan will be submitted to the court.
