THE HEINOUS ATTACK ON EX MC SEEMA SHARMA’S HOUSE IS A TESTAMENT TO THE WORSENING LAW & ORDER SITUATION IN STATE: MP PATIALA

SHAMEFUL THAT POLICE DIDN’T REACH THE SPOT AND PROVIDE ANY SAFETY UNTIL THE NEXT DAY: PRENEET KAUR

PATIALA, 12 JANUARY 2024

MP Patiala and Former External Affairs Minister Preneet Kaur today lamented the worsening Law & Order Situation in Punjab.

Talking to the media after meeting with Ex MC Seema Sharma at her residence, the Patiala MP Said, “I am completely horrified by this horrific attack on the house of EX MC Seema Sharma ji. The brazenness of the attackers who attacked the house and the family in the evening astonishes me. This is one of the busiest areas of Patiala and still 5-6 gangsters came and attacked the house with swords, bricks and even opened fire at the house. What’s even saddening and shameful is that even after repeated calls from the family and neighbours the police didn’t come. Not only that even after I urged the SSP to send the officers at the spot, not a single policeman went to the spot until the next morning.”

Preneet Kaur further said, “There is complete lawlessness in the state. This heinous attack at the residence of Seema Sharma yesterday is a testament to the worsening law and order situation under the Aam Aadmi Party rule in Punjab. Snatching and robbery have become a daily affair in Patiala and now even these violent incidents have increased manifold in the last few days. Recently two violent incidents and firing has taken place at Patiala’s New Bus stand, but still the government has completely turned a blind eye to the law and order situation in Punjab.”

She further said that, “Due to these regular incidents the common public is also losing it’s faith in the Punjab Government and the Punjab Police. It seems like that the Police is completely failing to ensure the safety of the common public, which is very saddening.”

Answering a media query on the cable operators issue the Patiala MP said, “I strongly condemn this highhandedness being done in cahoots with the police against the cable operators who were earning their honest living through this business and now have been forced into hiding and are afraid of their and their families well being. Snatching someone’s source of income is the worst thing that anyone can do, and sadly it seems like this government is doing exactly that.”
