Special campaign on till January 22 to connect citizens with cleanliness campaign

In view of the presence of citizens in the urban areas of the state on the occasion of Pran Pratishtha of Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the Commissioner of Urban Administration and Development Directorate has issued guidelines to the Commissioners of all Municipal Corporations, Chief Municipality and Municipal Council. The campaign that started from January 12 will continue intensively till 22 January all over the state. Commissioner Urban Administration Development Shri Bharat Yadav has given instructions to the Divisional Joint Director of the department to keep a constant watch on the entire arrangement.

Instructions have been issued to conduct intensive cleanliness campaigns with the participation of citizens in all public and residential areas in urban bodies. During this period, cleanliness in the urban bodies should also be monitored. Maximum participation of local citizens, public representatives and youth should be ensured during the campaign, especially around temples. Instructions have been issued by the Urban Administration and Development to focus on proper lighting of all the temples, holy rivers and reservoirs in the urban areas. Also, civic bodies have been instructed to keep the business activities organized along with environmental protection for the Deepdaan.

Instructions have been issued to spread maximum awareness about the cleanliness campaign among the public by organizing Rangoli competition at the local level and rewarding youth for outstanding work. The civic bodies have been asked to organize spiritual and cultural discussions, dance dramas and bhajan sandhyas through Jan Sangathans. Discussions should be organized on the incidents of Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram in the higher education institutions located in the urban bodies. Special arrangements should be made of public toilets so that devotees do not have to face any kind of inconvenience. The civic body should pay special attention to the beautification of the urban area. MPs, MLAs, public representatives of urban bodies, members of self-help groups, senior citizens and freedom fighters should be invited to the programnes held locally.
