PEC NSS Celebrated National Youth Day

On 16th January 2023, the NSS unit of Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be university)Chandigarh in collaboration with the Music Club celebrated the National Youth Festival.
 
The National Youth Festival in India is an annual celebration held by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, in collaboration with a different state each year from January 12-16 to commemorate Swami Vivekananda’s birthday and National Youth Week. Started in 1995, now inspires state-level youth festivals throughout India. The event focuses on fostering cultural understanding, peace, development, and provides nationwide exposure for youth talent and aspirations.
 
The Event started with a gracious welcome of the distinguished chief guest, Mr. Nemi Chand (State Liaison officer of NSS for Chandigarh) along with the DSA, D. R. Prajapati and other distinguished Professor’s.
 
The event commenced with a melodious performance by the Music club. Which was followed by a beautiful speech that enlightened us about the life of Swami Vivekananda whose spirit permeates India’s National Youth Festival, his life, teachings, and unwavering belief in the potential of youth serve as the guiding light for this celebration. Swami Vivekananda emphasized the importance of building strong character, physical, mental, and spiritual. This philosophy aligns perfectly with the festival’s focus on holistic development, encouraging young people to excel not just in competitions but also in their personal lives
 
This was followed by a fun quizzing game organized by NSS, The quizzing game proved to be a highly engaging and enjoyable activity for all participants. The lively competition sparked keen interest and generated much friendly rivalry, culminating in a thoroughly delightful experience for everyone involved.
 
Afterwards the chief guest Mr. Nemi Chand was presented with a token of appreciation by D.R. Prajapati and both of them jointly unveiled the annual calendar of NSS for the Year 2024-2025. Highlighting key dates, and important events.
 
The evening culminated in a resounding address by the esteemed Chief Guest, Mr. Nemi Chand, whose insightful words provided a fitting and memorable closure to the event. He eloquently praised the participants’ and underscored the importance of the National youth festival and the youth’s importance to the country.
 
Drawing upon his vast experience, he offered words of wisdom and encouragement, urging the audience to embrace challenges and strive for national integration, unity, and cultural exchange
 
The Chief Guest’s concluding remarks served as a potent call to action, reminding us of our collective responsibility towards our nation.
