Following the fresh snowfall, the District Administration Kargil today launched massive snow clearance measures in the district to ensure uninterrupted road connectivity.Deputy Commissioner Kargil had instructed all the concerned departments to gear up their men and machinery to ensure uninterrupted essential services.
Executive Officer, MC, Shafqat Ali Khan said MC Kargil launched snow clearance operation and it has so far cleared 100 percent roads in town under Municipal Area Kargil.Similarly, snow clearance operation was launched by the Mechanical Department Kargil all over the district Kargil.
While providing the details about the snow clearance measures, Executive Engineer, Kargil Mohd Hassan said that snow clearance of 300 bedded hospital was completed on priority. The snow clearance was also completed until the Council Secretariat Kargil.The snow was also cleared from hospital premises at shargole and Drass. Snow clearance was also completed at Zamastang, Lamar Goshan Road Drass.
Regarding Sankoo it was informed that the snow clearance from Sankoo to Barsoo and Sankoo Chumikchan is going on.Machines were deployed for clearance of LR Marpodoks Saliskote. Machine was also deployed for snow clearance of LR Muradbagh Drass and snow clearance from the premises of High School Muradbagh is going on.
Machine has been deployed for snow from clearance at Kukstay Road in Shargole Block. Similarly, machine was deployed for snow clearance from NH to Bawa Grong Tharumsa Pashkum while a machine has been deployed in Kamutul Thovina road.The snow clearance work in Tangole Link Road in Taisuru Block is ongoing. For Gongma Tangole-Analtik link road in Taisuru Block the work is going on.
Officials said snow clearance at Hundurman Brok is going on.
Snow clearance operation was started by NHIDCL and work was completed at package 1, 2 and 3. General Manager, NHIDCL, Kargil said that the Kargil-Zanskar road is motorable.
The power supply has been ensured 100 percent in the district by the PDD Kargil while drinking water has been restored 100 percent by the PHE Department.
