New Delhi, November 17

Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has recorded a sales of around Rs 72,000 Crore this Diwali across the country. With the scarcity of Chinese goods this Diwali, businesses in India have been greatly benefited.

“As per reports gathered from 20 different cities which are also considered to be the leading distribution centers of India, it is expected that Diwali festive sales generated a turnover of about Rs 72,000 crores and gave China the expected loss of Rs 40,000 crore,” said CAIT.

The CAIT said that the sales were tremendous during this Diwali festive season and it has generated great hopes for many traders.

Among the most purchased products this Diwali were, FMCG goods, durables, toys, electrical appliances, kitchen articles, accessories, gift items, confectionery items, sweets, home furnishing, tapestry, utensils, gold, jewellery, footwear, watches, furniture, fixtures, garments, fashion apparels, cloth, and home decoration goods.

It is to be noted that since the violent Galwan Valley clashes this year in which 20 Indian soldiers lost their lives, CAIT has been campaigning to boycott all Chinese companies.
