Deputy Commissioner Mrs Sakshi Sawhney has assured that the district administration is working to provide the required DAP fertilizer for wheat sowing. She said that Approximately 30,000 metric tons of DAP are needed for sowing wheat, potatoes, and peas across 1.89 lakh hectares in the district.
She stated that 17,662 metric tons of DAP have been made available, fulfilling about 59% of the total demand. In this stock 60% of the DAP will be allocated to cooperative societies, while 40% will be supplied to private dealers.
CAO Dr Tajinder Singh said that farmers can also utilize TSP, NPK, and Single Super Phosphate fertilizers for wheat cultivation.He emphasized that farmers should use fertilizers as per the advice of agricultural experts and Punjab Agricultural University. He warned to fertilizer dealers who forcing farmers to purchase additional items like insecticide alongside DAP.
