Chandigarh, November 23
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab on Monday levelled serious allegations against the Capt. Amarinder Singh government, stating that, instead of punishing the officers and party leaders, accused in the post-matric scholarship scam, it was rewarding them with them additional charge in the probe panel, to perpetuate the cult of corruption in the state.
In a statement issued from the party headquarters here today, Jagaron MLA and Deputy Leader of Opposition (Dy LoP) Sarabjit Kaur Manuke and Budhlada MLA Principal Budh Ram, said that the government was rewarding ‘tainted’ officers by assigning them additional charge to probe the multi-crore scams, which proved the point that the govt was hand in glove with those behind engineering multi-crore scams.
The AAP MLAs said that the Captain government was hell bent on exploiting the rights of poor ‘Dalit’ students, who were facing all kinds of economic hardships, by allegedly embezzling worth crores of rupees belonging to the lakhs of Dalit students, adding that the government had deprived off lakhs of students from their right to education.
Taking a pot-shot at the Captain Government, the AAP leaders alleged that the government, which had been playing hide and seek on the promises of providing a corruption-free dispensation in the state, was now offering cover to the corrupt officials and leaders.
They added that it was also a matter of grave concern that that he (CM) did not carry out the investigation into the alleged multi-crore scam in a proper manner, rather those behind usurping worth crore from the scholarship money were given clean chit to all. The AAP legislators further said that the interests of all sections were not safe under the hegemony of Captain government.
The AAP leaders said that the government in the saddle, which was supposed to encourage the poor ‘Dalit’ students help them achieve higher education, was indulging in embezzling their money on account their post matric scholarship dues. The leaders said that the anti-Dalit face of Captain Amarinder had come to the fore, saying that, instead of punishing those allegedly involved in the scholarship scam were being given additional charges to probe the scam.
