Under the ”Dialogue with Teachers”” program, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains interacts with teachers of Fazilka

Under a unique initiative to get feedback from teachers to ensure quality and qualitative education among students studying in government schools, School and Higher Education and Public Relations Minister Harjot Singh Bains interacted with teachers of Fazilka district under the ”Dialogue with Teachers”program.
On this occasion, Education Minister S. Bains said that the aim of this step is to get feedback from the principals, head masters, BPEOs, center head teachers, nodal officers of various programs and school campus managers about the ongoing reforms and programs for further improvement or changes in the government schools of the state. He said that the state government led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann has initiated efforts to improve the existing education system by introducing the concept of School of Eminence, School of Happiness and School of Brilliance to improve the future of the students of government schools.
Describing Fazilka as the capital of teachers, he said that arrangements have been made to train the school principals, headmasters and teachers from Singhapur, IIM Ahmedabad and now from Finland to equip them with leadership and management skills to improve and strengthen our education system according to world-class infrastructure.
He further said that for the first time in the history of Punjab, education and health have emerged as public issues. He said that he has visited 1000 schools so far and most of the teachers have been found dedicated to their work. The department is being further improved as per the suggestions received from the teachers. He said that a total of 20,000 schools were surveyed for infrastructure and other up-gradation and he is happy to inform that about 8000 schools have got 1400 km of boundary walls while construction/repair and renovation of 10,000 classrooms has been done. Similarly, WiFi facility has been provided in more than 90 percent of the schools.
On this occasion, Fazilka MLA Narinder Pal Singh Sawna said that the Punjab government has spent Rs 72 crore 81 lakh on education in his constituency, while Balluana MLA Mr. Amandeep Singh Goldy Musafir said that Rs 100 crore has been released for schools in Balluana constituency.
On this occasion, Navjot Khaira, Principal of Eminence School Ramsara, mentioned the training from Singapore and said that we are implementing the training got from there in the schools. She said that the enthusiasm of parents and students towards School of Eminence is evident from the fact that more than 2000 applications were received for admission in class 9 and more than 3000 for admission in class 11 in her school. Jaswinder Singh, Principal of Government Senior Secondary School Giddrawanwali, thanked the government for the efforts made for coaching for JEE and NEET exams. He said that in the last session, 46 Students from government schools in the district qualified in JEE Main and 17 qualified in NEET. Principal of Bajidpur Ranbir Singh thanked the school for providing a grant of Rs. 1.25 crore. Principal of Nukerian School Hans Raj spoke about the academic calendar and uniforms. Principal of Government Girls School Abohar Sunita said that the girl students have become comfortable with the provision of transport facilities in government schools. Rajinder Vikhona Principal of Ladhuka School said that with Mega PTM, our communication with parents has strengthened and their role in the education of children and the development of schools has increased significantly. Principal of Hastankalan Parminder Kumar said that the school building was damaged due to floods last year, but the government immediately released a grant for repairs, due to which the school was restored to its original form and started. Himmatpura Cluster Head Abhijit said that the management of schools has become easier with the availability of connectivity through BSNL in border villages. Teacher Rakesh Kamboj, while giving details of the training from Finland, said that the method of selection of teachers has been very transparent for this. Deputy DEO Pankaj Angi, while talking about the promotions, said that 96 teachers have been promoted as lecturers in the district.
Earlier, upon his arrival here, Additional Deputy Commissioner Development Mr. Subhash Chander, District Education Officers Brij Mohan Singh Bedi and Satish Kumar, Deputy DEOs Parminder Singh and Pankar Angi, Satinder Batra, Lovejit Grewal and other teachers welcomed the Education Minister. On this occasion, he also saw the exhibitions put up by various schools.
