A condolence meeting was held to pay respect to the Senior Party Leader Sh. Ahmed Patel Treasurer All India Congress Committee in Batala . Speaking on the occasion Senior Congress Leader and Permanent Invitee Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee MM Singh Cheema said he was the moving spirit behind the Congress Party and was a pillar of strength. He lived and breathed Congress and stood by the party through its most difficult time. He really was an asset for the party. A man who has been a Parliamentarian since 1977, Ahmed Patel was a low key politician, not a front bencher. Imagine representing a state for 8 terms in Parliament! 3 terms in Lok Sabha, 5 terms Rajya Sabha he always preferred to be away from Ministerial Opportunity always requesting High command to work for party. We all congressmen are saddened by the demise of Sh. Ahmed Patel.
Speaking in the condolence meeting Sh. Amardeep Singh Cheema, Chairman Punjab Health Systems Corporation condoled the death of Sh. Ahmed Patel, he stated that he was a icon of inter-personal relations in present day hurly burly of politics , most respected leader in all political parties his faithfulness and dedication to public life was tremendous that distinguished him from others. Today it is a sad day when Congress Party lost a 8 term MP who never became a Minister by choice despite being one of the senior most Member Parliament in Congress Party.Terming this as a great loss to Congress Party as well as to Congress President Chairman Cheema termed this as a incredible loss.
