Five-days Training Programme for Special Educators on “Screening, Remediation and Inclusion of Children with Learning Disability” started at Panjab University, Chandigarh today.
The prestigious training programme is being organized by the Department of Community Education and Disability Studies, Panjab University Chandigarh, in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha U.T. Chandigarh.
The program, being organized for in-service Special Educators of working in Govt. schools of Chandigarh, will update participants with the latest advancements in knowledge and technology related to specific learning disability and contribute to their professional development. Experts from different domains including Clinical Psychology, Medicine, Research and Education are listed to provide a multidisciplinary understanding as well as approaches of Specific Learning Disability to the Participants. This programme will undertake the various topics related to learning disability (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia), inclusive classrooms, development of teaching-learning material, technology, curriculum adaptation, assessment, accommodation, and management strategies (stress, anxiety, behavior modification, etc.).
There will be a total of 25 sessions (5 per day) in this programme. The participants will be updated with new approaches of assessments, identification process, and intervention strategies. This program will empower the teachers to identify and determine the needs of the child with special needs studying in the schools. Finally, it will contribute to establish sustainable environment in schools and to promote accessible society for children with special needs so that they could live their lives happily in society.
