Kargil delegation led by CEC Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon calls on J&K CM Omar Abdullah

A delegation led by Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today met with Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah in Jammu.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy CM Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Cabinet Minister Javed Rana, Chief Secretary J&K, Atal Dulloo, Commissioner Secretary, Education Shantamanu, Administrative Secretary, Health and Medical Education Department, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah besides Dr Minu Mahajan, Chairperson BOPEE J&K and other concerned officials were present.
The delegation comprised Member Parliament Ladakh Hanifa Jaan, Executive Councillor Er Punchok Tashi, Executive Councillor Zakir Hussain, Councillor Feroz Ahmed Khan, Haji Abass, Abdul Wahid, Mohd Amin, Nasir Hussain Mushi District President INC, Additional General Secretary National Conference Qamer Ali Akoon, Sarparast Aga Syed Mohd Megiod, Sarparast Allah Anjuman -e- Sahibzaman.
The delegation presented various demands including selection of candidates from Kargil in paramedical training institutes of J&K, admission of students in various colleges and universities of J&K, appointment of Nodal Officer for patients referred to SKIMS/GMC, providing of requisite logistics support for functioning of Boys and Girls Hostels at Srinagar and Jammu, Construction of Kargil Bhavan in Jammu, allotment of parking space for Kargil Taxi Operators at Srinagar and Jammu, allotment of land for graveyard for people of Kargil at Srinagar and Jammu, arrangement of basic facilities for people of Kargil living at various colonies in Jammu and Kashmir, issues of casual laborers of SKAUST, provision of seats for registrarship for Ladakhi PG doctors.
CM Omar Abdullah gave a patient hearing to all the demands and said that last year 245 vacancies were left vacant in various paramedical colleges of J&K
The Chief Minister said that through Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE) students of Kargil will get admission. He also assured that students of Kargil will get admission in other colleges and universities of Jammu and Kashmir.
CM Omar Abdullah also assured that basic amenities like water, roads, and electricity will be provided to residents of Kargil who live in Jammu and Srinagar. He also assured that rest of the demands will also be resolved on a priority bases in a phased manner.
