Former Minister and senior SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia today said power hungry Aam Admi Party (AAP) Convener Arvind Kejriwal was seeking a Rajya Sabha nomination from Punjab and this was the reason why the party had forced its sitting MP Sanjiv Arora to vacate a Rajya Sabha seat for him.
In a statement released here, Mr. Majithia said sitting Rajya Sabha MP Sanjiv Arora had been nominated as the party candidate from Ludhiana West constituency solely to pave the way for Kejriwal’s entry into the Rajya Sabha. He said the AAP game plan was to use government might to get Sanjeev Arora elected to the Vidhan Sabha so that a Rajya Sabha seat was vacated in the State. Kejriwal wants to get twin benefits including a government bunglow in his name in the National Capital as well as the perks and power of an MP”.
The SAD leader said that it was most shameful to see that during the last three years Bhagwant Mann as Chief Minister had completely surrendered at the feet of the AAP high command in Delhi. He said earlier the treasury of Punjab was looted for preaching AAP and failed Kejriwal model throughout the country and now the AAP Convener was seeking a nomination to the Rajya Sabha from Punjab.
Mr. Majithia asked Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann to not to forget that people of Punjab had given him the mandate to run the State for the welfare of Punjab and Punjabis and not for serving his Delhi masters. He said Punjabis were now eagerly waiting for 2027 to correct their historic blunder of 2022 which they were now repenting. He said Bhagwant Mann should also remember that he would have to pay for all his mistakes and would have to answer each and every decision made against the welfare of the State.EOM
