CM directs to chargesheet eight officers of HUDA on the basis of complaint received by resident on twitter
Chandigarh, December 11 – Taking strict action against eight officers of Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA), the Chief Minister has directed to chargesheet them on the basis of a complaint made by a Panchkula-based resident on the Twitter handle of the Chief Minister.
A news report was shared in this regard by Ramesh Goyat on the Twitter handle of CM (@cmohry) which came to light during the review meeting of C.M. Window here today. The complaint was regarding use of poor quality material by Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA), Panchkula, in connivance with the contractors, for construction of roads in sectors across Ghaggar River in Panchkula. It was stated in the complaint that due to the connivance of the officers of the Department corruption to the tune of crores of rupees has been committed and this has been viewed seriously by the State government.
It was also stated in the meeting that despite the investigation by the State Vigilance Bureau in the matter, the officers continued to protect other officers, due to which two XEN, Ashok Rana and Aditya Sharma, two SDOs Rajesh Khurana and MP Sharma, two JEs Puran Chand and Subhash Chand, a retired XEN Bhupendra Pal and a retired SDO Sunil Jain were involved in the case. It has also been instructed to initiate investigation under Rule-7 for indulging in cheating of crores of rupees against these persons.
While issuing orders to the State Vigilance Bureau to expedite the investigation, it was said in the meeting that the government maintains it stance of zero-tolerance to corruption. It was said in the review meeting that work is being done in the state for public welfare by the government with full transparency.
