CM approves master plan for second phase of Ultra Modern Apple, Fruit and Vegetable Market in Pinjore
Chandigarh December 11: Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal today approved the master plan for the second phase of Ultra Modern Apple, Fruit and Vegetable Market being set up at Pinjore, district Panchkula. This Ultra Modern market is being developed over 78.33 acres of land at a cost of Rs 175 crore.
Manohar Lal given his nod to the second phase of the Ultra Model Apple, Fruit and Vegetable Market while presiding over a meeting here today. Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, Mr J.P Dalal was also present in the meeting.
Now after the go ahead by the Chief Minister, invitation of bids for construction of phase two would be invited. The work of the second phase of the Market would be carried out at a cost of Rs 96.53 crore. The construction work of the first phase is in full swing and infrastructure including apple shed, office adjacent to apple shed, entry gate boundary wall and toilet complex are expected to be completed by end of December 2020. About Rs 28.44 crore would be incurred on the first phase of the project.
It was decided in the meeting to adopt centralized auction process as operation model which would ensure assured and timely payment, transparent price discovery, correct weighment and collectivization of farmers into Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs). Being innovative, the centralized auction model would involve effort from the private operator as well as Haryana State Agricultural and Marketing Board (HSAMB). It was also decided that initially 50 shops would be constructed and allotted in the Market premises and 50 plots for shops would be sold.
It was informed that apart from approving the Detailed Project Report (DPR), permission has been granted to float Request for Proposal (RFP) for development of second phase on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) mode. It was also informed that allotment of sites for Cold / Controlled Atmosphere (CA) Stores, Fruit Ripening centres, Petrol Pump/ CNG Station, Hotel, Dhaba, Pack House, Packaging units, Trade Center and Waste Management System would be made on long term leasehold basis.
It was informed that the Ultra Modern Apple, Fruit and Vegetable Market would have the facilities of apple shed, potato-onion shed, tomato-other fruit and vegetable shed, farmer and retail shed, refrigerated fruit and vegetable hall, administrative building, kisan rest house/dormitory, parking lot and roads.
Among those present in the meeting included Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, V. Umashankar, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Devender Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance T.V.S.N Prasad, Chief Administration, HSAMB Sumedha Kataria, Director General, Horticulture Arjun Saini, Secretary, HSAMB Yogesh Kumar and other senior officers of the State Government.
