HAFED explores export opportunities of Rice and Mustard Oil to Malawi and other African countries
Chandigarh, December 19: The quality products manufactured by Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (HAFED) is all set to get a new identity in the international markets, as HAFED is exploring export opportunities of Rice and Mustard Oil to Malawi and other African countries.
Managing Director, D.K. Behera shared this after Malawi’s High Commissioner to India, Mr. George Mkondiwa, visited HAFED Corporate Office at Panchkula and held a fruitful meeting with the Chairman, HAFED, Mr. Kailash Bhagat and Managing Director HAFED, D.K. Behera and other officers of HAFED. While appreciating the activities of HAFED, Malawi’s High Commissioner assured that mutual cooperation between Malawi and HAFED for the export of Rice and Mustard Oil will be materialized in near future benefiting both countries. During the meeting wide range of issues like Procurement of Food Grains, Processing, Marketing of various consumer products were discussed in detail.
D.K. Behera further stated that Mr. George Mkondiwa has also desired HAFED to explore possible export opportunity of Rice and Mustard Oil to Malawi and other African countries as the production cost of HAFED Consumer Products seems to be on the lower side. He also appreciated the quality of HAFED products and also visited the HAFED sale outlet situated in the Corporate Office Campus.
During the meeting, Managing Director, D.K. Behera, also gave a detailed presentation on the various activities of HAFED and explained the value addition process and marketing of quality Consumer Products like different varieties of Rice and Kachhi Ghani (Cold Pressed) Mustard Oil which have become very popular in Haryana and hold promise for export to African countries at a reasonable price. He further assured that HAFED is willing to export its wide range of consumer products to all African countries including Malawi.
