Haryana Governor talks about divine message of Gita

Chandigarh, December 21- Haryana Governor, Satyadeo Narain Arya said that the divine message of Gita delivered by Lord Krishna in Kurukshetra is based on the philosophy of Karma, which is the basis of welfare and progress of the nation, society and people.

Arya said this while addressing a webinar “Satat Astitv aur Shrimad Bhagvad Gita Darshan” held at Kurukshetra University today on the inauguration of the International Gita Mahotsav -2020 from Haryana Raj Bhavan, Chandigarh.

The Governor said that salvation is obtained from the waters of the Ganges; the land and water of Varanasi have the power to give salvation, however, all three, water, land and air of Kurukshetra provide salvation. He said that this time, Gita Mahotsav is being celebrated online, so crores of people, not only from India but also from abroad, are enjoying this mahotsav. He appreciated Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal for taking this mahotsav to the international level. He congratulated the devotees and wished them a happy New Year.

Speaking as the Chief Guest in this webinar, the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr. Jai Ram Thakur said that the message of the Holy Scripture Gita is still relevant to the whole world. Today, the teachings of the Holy Scripture Gita need to be imbibed in our lives. He said that in this race of progress and modernity today, we are forgetting our history, culture and values. These types of programmes keep us connected to our roots.

During the webinar, Haryana Tourism and Education Minister, Kanwar Pal, Vice Chancellor, Kurukshetra University, Som Nath Sachdeva, Swami Gyananand ji Maharaj, Shankaracharya Swami Gyananand Tirth ji Maharaj, Lokeshmuni Ji, Mulana Kakuji also expressed their views on various aspects of Shrimad Bhagwad Gita.

On this occasion Nodal Officer, International Gita Mahotsav-2020 and Member Secretary, KDB, G. Anupama gave detailed information about the upcoming events till December 25.

Jai Ram Thakur, Kanwar Pal and Swami Gyananand ji Maharaj and other dignitaries released a souvenir as well.
