Police Public Archery Tournament concludes in Kargil

KARGIL, MARCH 18, 2021: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan chaired as the chief guest at the final match of the Police Public Archery Tournament here at Khree Sultan Chow Sports Stadium Biamathang here today.

The tournament was organized by the District Police Kargil as part of the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav to celebrate the 75 year of India’s Independence.

Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, SSP Kargil Anayat Ali Choudhary, Sub Divisional Magistrate Sankoo Ghulam Mohiuddin Wani, ASP Kargil Iftikhar Talib Choudhary among other district officers were present on the occasion.

The final match was played between Thaskan Grong and Chanchik teams. Thaskan Grong won the final match with 12 points while defeating the Chanchik team who gained 9 points.

Speaking on the occasion, CEC Feroz Khan appreciated the efforts of District Police Kargil for conducting such a well-managed tournament and providing opportunity to the youth of the district.

The CEC said that the UT Administration Ladakh and the LAHDC, Kargil is providing significant attention towards various sports activities and to encourage the youth for excelling in various sports.

SSP Kargil Anayat Ali Choudhary said that the tournament was organized in various phases at different levels. He said that the winner team of the tournament will be sent to Leh for the UT level tournament organized by the Ladakh Police and 10 teams from Kargil will be participating in the upcoming tournament at Leh.

The SSP also appealed to the people of Kargil to keep Kargil town clean.

Later, the SHO Kargil announced the list of the 28 players who have been selected for the tournament in Leh.

At the end, the winner and runner-up teams and the man of the series were awarded by the CEC Kargil and other dignitaries.
