National Lok Adalat held in Kargil
KARGIL APRIL 17, 2021: A National Lok Adalat was held in Kargil today under the chairmanship of the Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) and Principal District and Sessions Judge, Muhammad Rafiq Chak.
A total number of 4 benches were constituted where a total number of 173 cases were taken up for hearing out of which 146 cases were settled amicably while an amount of Rs.235950/-was recovered as fine/settlement amount.
The bench at District Court Complex, Kargil, comprised of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM)/Sub-Judge, Kargil (Presiding Officer) Tsewang Phuntsog and Advocate Khadim Hussain and Advocate Haji Murtaza as members . A total No. of 51 cases were taken up for hearing out of which 26 cases were settled down and Rs 186300/- was recovered as settlement amount.
The bench at Munsif Court Sankoo comprised of the Munsif/JMIC, Sankoo (Presiding Officer) Muneer Ahmad with Advocate Talib Hussain as member. A total number of 89 cases were taken and all the taken up cases were disposed off while an amount of Rs 42200/-was recovered as fine.
Similarly, the bench at Munsif Court, Drass, comprised of the Munsif/Additional Special Mobile Magistrate, Drass (Presiding Officer) Dedon Angmoo with BDO, Drass as member. A total of 17 cases were taken up out of which 15 cases were settled down and Rs 2900/- was recovered as fine.
The 4th bench was constituted at Kargil which comprised of Muhammad Kazim, Assistant Commissioner Labour, Kargil (Presiding Officer) and Amina Khatoon, Inspector Labour, Kargil as member. 16 cases were taken up out of which all were settled down and Rs 4550/- was recovered as fine.
The National Lok Adalat was held amid strict adherence of the COVID-19 SOPs.
