Felicitates students of French language course
KARGIL APRIL 30, 2021: Vice Chancellor (VC), University of Ladakh (UoL) C Phunsoq along with the Registrar UoL Imteeaz Kacho visited Government Degree College (GDC),Drass here today.
During the course of the visit, the VC took brief from the Principal and staff members about the current status of educational activities in the college.
The VC in presence of the Registrar UoL also felicitated 30 students of the college with certificates and stipend who have completed Vocational French Certificate Course conducted by the college.
Addressing the students on the occasion, the VC appreciated the efforts of the Principal Dr Amjad Ali Abassi for initiating a certificate course in French language in harsh winters of Drass. He also congratulated the Course Coordinator Ashraf Ali , Expert Trainer Manzoor lone and the participant students on the successful completion of the said course.
The VC exhorted upon students to work hard and give value to time and further advised them to be consistent in their studies. He further said that UoL is committed to extend all necessary facilities required by the college.
Register, UoL Imteeaz Kacho while speaking on the occasion lauded the efforts of VC, UoL in boosting morale of the colleges in general and higher education of Ladakh in particular.He also praised the progressive increase in the enrollment of students at GDC Drass and appreciated the efforts of the Principal and his team in this regard.
Earlier during the welcome address, Principal GDC Drass Dr Amjad Ali Abassi briefed the guests about the entire course and how GDC Drass despite harsh winter conditions managed to complete the said vocational course with enthusiastic participation of the Programme Coordinator, Expert Trainer and the students.
The students also demonstrated French language conversation on the occasion while Faculty Member Haider Ali, expressed gratitude to VC and the Registrar UoL for their visit to GDC drass.
Later, the VC UoL along with the Registrar also visited the alloted site for establishment of GDC Drass Campus at Nakpo Rza.
The VC assured the Principal GDC that infrastructure of the college will be completed in an appropriate time and requisite steps will be taken to develop GDC Drass as a model college.
